Weatherby began in the mid 1940's when Roy Weatherby decided he would change the world of firearm performance. Roy Weatherby was producing or rechambering rifles to accomodate the new supercharge ammunition of.224, .240, .257, 7 MM, .300, .378, .340, .388-.378, .375, .416, and .460 magnum cartridges he had developed. In 1957Roy Weatherby produced the Mark V rifle giving more notoriety to the Weatherby name. In 1970 Roy Weatherby introduced the Vanguard Action. In 1983 Ed Weatherby took over the leadership role. The Weatherby reputation of excellence and innovation stands tall for over 60 years and continues to expand and grow.
