442

Got the 442 back today from Smith and Wesson. They fixed it. Looks fine, the barrel is now nice and straight. But I will still trade it for an airlight with a trigger. Took 6 weeks turn around. They paid all freight.

right size and weight. For it's intended purpose (conceal carry) it goes where other guns cannot. Caliber is the smallest I would use. Combat accurate and all around well made.

Just bought my 442. Very nice.
Pros: Put 80 rounds through it. they all went bang. Fits nice in the pocket and it will not hang up when pulled out. I see this piece as an excellent ccw weapon, for close range. If I could only shoot it accurately. At least for me anything over 10 feet is a maybe.
Cons: Trigger pull tends to throw me off target. I consistently shot large 12 inch groups at 21 feet.Groups were triple that of my old model 36 in single action. Used hornady, federal, target wadcutters and a couple of reloads. Noticed that the barrel is actually screwed into the gun at an angle, HMM. Smith and Wesson said they would send me a package to mail it UPS back to them. I'll let you know how this turns out. I'm confident S&W will effect a quality repair. Overall, I will probably trade this revolver off for the air light model with a trigger.
Overall, this gun is probably suited for someone with a larger hand.

This has been my primary CC weapon and I have really liked it a great deal. Has controlable muzzle flip with standard .38 special ammunition. Very easy to conceal in a number of ways. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the sight is virtually worthless in the dark.

Great carry weapon! Light, zero chance for malfunction, and the +p is more than enough to put down a bad guy.
